Autism Nurse Advisor

Providing clinical guidance to multi-disciplinary teams who are working with adults with autism, you will ensure that these patients receive a sensitively tailored service for their healthcare needs, particularly when they need technical intervention. As such, you will educate nurses and other professionals across the secondary, primary and voluntary sectors. Developing guidelines, standards, protocols and so forth, you will inspire nursing excellence amongst our committed teams, and you will contribute to clinical audits and research to ensure we are adequately equipped to provide the highest quality of care and make the most of our resources.
You’ll have plenty of autonomy in this fantastic role, so you’ll need to be have great organisation and time management skills with the ability to balance your workload. As a registered nurse with at least four/five years of experience – two of which will be in a speciality area with the relevant qualification or award – you will also ideally have a teaching or mentorship qualification. With experience of providing acute or community-based nursing to Adults on the Autism Spectrum you will have comprehensive communication skills with the natural ability to lead others and inspire change.
