Role: Theatre Support Assistant
Location: The Wellington Hospital
Hours: Permanent, Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Monday to Saturday , Occasional Saturdays, 5 days per week. Mixture of Earlies, Lates & Long days.
Salary: Competitive + Shift Allowances

We are looking for a Theatre Support Assistant to join our Theatre department at The Wellington Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC. The theatres across our facilities, provide a vibrant, exciting and professional environment where the advance equipment and technology is second to none. You will be working with Complex surgeries and World Class Surgeons.

The Wellington Hospital provides the highest level of care for patients who are looking for the best treatment in key areas of healthcare, including: neurosurgery, spinal surgery, cardiac care, orthopaedics, acute neurological rehabilitation, gynaecology and cancer care. They have 13 Theatres across 3 buildings covering multiple surgical specialties. Successful candidates will be part of a large theatre team of colleagues, experienced professionals. The Wellington Hospital has a successful track record of career progression, offering support, and development to those seeking to aspire higher or widen their knowledge. Including offer a Surgical First Assistant Course.

What you will do:
You will be responsible for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance.
Participate in the assessment of patient care needs and implement and maintain the agreed standards of care.
Cleaning of theatre and recovery areas before and after operating sessions, also adhering to the weekly cleaning schedule.
Stocking of cupboards and stock containers against agreed stock levels.
Collecting and escorting the patient, and assisting with transferring of the patient from trolley to table under supervision of trained staff.
Assisting with the safe positioning of patient on operating table.
Acting as circulating person for the scrub team and within the scope of the role

What you will bring:
Health care qualification / care certificate
Experience working in an operating theatre as a theatre support assistant
Knowledge of Healthcare Computer Systems, Meditech, and Microsoft, Outlook.
Knowledge of Infection Prevention Control
Knowledge of WHO / Safety checks in Theatres (essential)
