Competitive salary dependent on experience, plus allowancesWe’re looking for a Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our Theatre team at The Harborne Hospital. Opened in January 2024, this £100 million, purpose‑built, 50‑bed hospital sits within the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus and is equipped with four advanced operating theatres, including a Hybrid Theatre. Designed to support complex and innovative care, the hospital is known for its investment in leading technology and modern facilities. You’ll be joining a well‑supported environment where clinical excellence is prioritised and practical day‑to‑day conveniences such as free on‑site parking help make your working life easier.As a Theatre Scrub Practitioner, you’ll play a central role in delivering safe and effective care alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team. Working across a varied and complex caseload, you’ll support a range of surgical procedures while building depth in your clinical practice. Close collaboration with experienced surgeons and theatre colleagues will help you develop your technical skills and confidence in a fast‑paced environment. Alongside your clinical responsibilities, there is a clear focus on progression, with opportunities to move into leadership pathways, support junior colleagues and expand your expertise within theatre practice. Let us care for you and your career, the same way you do for others.What you’ll do:Act as the scrub practitioner across a range of surgical procedures, maintaining the highest standards of aseptic technique
Prepare and manage surgical instruments, equipment and the sterile field for complex cases
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide skilled support throughout procedures
Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre colleagues to deliver safe, high‑quality care
Support the wider theatre team, contributing to a positive and efficient working environment
What you’ll bring:A current NMC pin or HCPC registration
Post‑registration experience as a Scrub Practitioner within an operating theatre
Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and theatre practices
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
A proactive approach to learning and developing within a theatre environment
