We’re excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our dedicated 20-bed Cardiology Unit at The Wellington Hospital – the UK’s largest private hospital and home to the country’s most extensive private critical care service. Rated “Good” by the CQC, The Wellington is a leading centre for advanced cardiac care, providing the ideal setting for nurses ready to develop professionally in this specialist field.
We welcome applications from nurses who are already experienced in cardiology, as well as those currently working in acute surgical wards or with an HPB (hepatobiliary) nursing background who are interested in transitioning into cardiology. If you bring enthusiasm and commitment, we’ll provide the cardiology training, mentorship, and structured development programme to support your success.
What you’ll be doing:
Providing safe, patient-centred care to individuals undergoing investigation, treatment, or recovery for cardiac conditions
Supporting patients through procedures such as angiograms, pacemaker insertions, and electrophysiology studies
Monitoring telemetry, recognising cardiac abnormalities, and responding promptly to changes in patient condition
Assessing patients on admission, planning care, and evaluating outcomes
Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team while offering reassurance, education, and compassionate support to patients and families

What you’ll bring:
Registered General Nurse with active NMC registration
A passion for delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care
Cardiology experience is desirable but not essential – we encourage applications from nurses with acute surgical ward or HPB experience who are eager to build a career in cardiology
