Sister/Charge Nurse – Haematology
Location: London, HCA at UCH
Contract: Full time, 37.5 hrs per week
Type: Permanent
Salary: £Competitive + Shift Enhancements
Are you an experienced Cancer Nurse ready to lead? Or a Senior Staff Nurse looking to step into a leadership role and make your mark?
This is your opportunity to join HCA at UCH, one of the UK’s leading private cancer centres, rated Outstanding by the CQC. Specialising in haematology and oncology, we deliver cutting-edge treatments to patients with complex cancer and blood disorders, including stem cell transplants and CAR T-cell therapy.
We’re seeking a Sister/Charge Nurse with the confidence, clinical excellence, and leadership skills to inspire a high-performing team on our haematology unit. Whether you’re an established Sister or a Senior Staff Nurse ready to step up, this role offers a unique chance to grow within a forward-thinking, world-class organisation.
As a senior clinical leader, you will work alongside the Ward Manager to ensure the safe and effective delivery of holistic patient care. In the Ward Manager’s absence, you’ll take full charge of the unit—stepping in with confidence to manage the team, coordinate care, and maintain high standards. Your leadership will help shape the culture and success of the service.
You will lead a team of skilled SACT nurses and healthcare assistants, supporting them to grow while championing excellence in practice. Every day, you’ll use your haematology experience to guide your team and deliver personalised, advanced care—often using treatments not widely available elsewhere in the UK.
You’ll also enjoy the autonomy to make impactful clinical decisions, while being fully supported with career development opportunities, including access to funded postgraduate education, clinical leadership training, and regular knowledge-sharing sessions with world-leading experts.
At HCA UK, we don’t just invest in the latest treatments—we invest in you. We’ll support your ambitions, prioritise your wellbeing, and give you the tools you need to thrive as a clinical leader.
At HCA UK we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver the very best care. We care that you want a career you can be proud of. We care that you want working conditions that support your health and wellbeing. Let us care for you and your career, the same way you do for others.
What you’ll bring:
Current NMC registration (Adult Nursing)
Significant experience in Haematology
Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) competency
Evidence of continual professional development
Demonstrated leadership or management experience (essential for Band 6 applicants)
Passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
