We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Nurse with a strong background in oncology nursing to join our specialist Medical Oncology Ward at The Wellington Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK. This role is ideal for an experienced oncology nurse who is passionate about delivering exceptional cancer care in a supportive, patient‑focused environment.

Our purpose‑built Medical Oncology Unit includes 17 oncology beds and 2 neuroendocrine suites, offering bespoke, high‑quality care for patients undergoing systemic anti‑cancer treatments. The Wellington Hospital is rated “Good” by the CQC and proudly holds the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark Award, reflecting our commitment to excellence in cancer services.

As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering safe, evidence‑based oncology care. With a 1:4 nurse‑to‑patient ratio, you’ll have the time and autonomy to provide comprehensive assessments, personalised treatment planning, and compassionate support throughout the patient journey.
You’ll work with advanced systemic anti‑cancer therapies — including treatments not routinely available on the NHS — and benefit from clear development pathways into leadership roles such as Sister or Matron, supported by fully funded education and training.

What you’ll bring
Current NMC Nurse Registration
Essential: A strong background in oncology nursing
SACT‑approved, with experience administering systemic anti‑cancer treatments
Confidence in managing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy side effects, and complex oncology care needs
Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
A commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, patient‑centred care
