At The Princess Grace Hospital, our state-of-the-art 9-bed Intensive Care Unit is designed to deliver Level 3 care with precision and heart. From complex elective surgeries—spinal, colorectal, DIEP flap reconstruction, VATS, nephrectomy, and advanced gynaecological procedures—to acute medical cases, our ICU is at the forefront of critical care. Supported by our Urgent Care Centre and Acute Medicine Ward, we provide seamless, multidisciplinary care across the hospital.
Our Outreach Team ensures continuity and safety beyond the ICU, conducting step-down reviews and offering rapid support to ward teams. We’re also deeply committed to education—sharing critical care expertise and upskilling staff hospital-wide.

About the Role

As a Senior Staff Nurse (Band 6), you’ll be the clinical lead during your shift, coordinating care, guiding the multidisciplinary team, and mentoring junior staff. You’ll be the go-to expert, making autonomous decisions, managing resources, and ensuring every patient receives safe, effective, and compassionate care. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about continuous professional development.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking experienced critical care nurses who hold 60 ITU Critical Care Course Credits—this is essential for the Senior Staff Nurse position. We also welcome applications from established Band 5 ITU Nurses who meet this requirement and are ready to take the next step in their career

You’ll bring:
Excellent clinical skills in mechanical ventilation, advanced airways, and continuous renal replacement therapy
Proficiency with critical care equipment and treatments
Strong leadership and communication skills
A commitment to mentoring and role modelling for junior staff

Desirable:
Advanced Life Support certification
Mentorship qualification
