Paediatric Staff Nurse in Emergency Department

We are seeking experienced dynamic, energetic and committed Children's trained nurse to join our Emergency Department. To be part of a friendly, hardworking team who strive for excellence.

Working closely with Children’s ward, Intensive Care Unit and Operating Theatres to ensure delivery of a high standard of nursing care to children.

We are looking for someone who;

• Is registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland as a Registered Children's Nurse and has a track-record of leading quality nursing services for children.
• Have the clinical and administrate capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
• Candidates must have one year experience in an acute hospital setting

Key Responsibilities:

Provide professional and clinical Knowledge within the nursing team

• Nursing procedures and techniques
• Critical assessment and working to stabilise acutely unwell patient alongside MDT
• Clinical interventions
• Provide quality assurance in conjunction with evidence based practice
• Medication management
• Practice development
• Facilitate communication and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams
• Foster a culture of excellence and compassion

• An experienced registered children's nurse (registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland)  who is ready to bring their experience to Mayo and be part of our exciting plans for Children's nursing in Mayo University Hospital.

Mayo University Hospital provides a range of acute services with Emergency Department, ICU, CCU, General surgery, Orthopaedics, Medicine, Cancer, Renal, Maternity, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Children’s and a busy Outpatient service.

Plans are currently in progress to build a new Emergency Department, with a new dedicated Children’s Emergency unit. To provide frontline emergency time critical care to Children and young people. Providing care for children with general medical Conditions, Surgical, Trauma and Orthopaedic emergencies. Our department has a wide variety of nurses working together to provide direct patient care and leadership at every level.
