Staff Nurse - Ward
We are looking for a Band 5 Nurse to join us at a very exciting time at Foxhall House. We have recently undergone a change in management and have a brand new OT team with the making of a fantastic MDT for our 16 bedded unit.
Foxhall has long been recognised as an environment that prides itself on providing a holistic and therapeutic environment for our gentlemen - who have acute and enduring mental illness combined with experiences which have led them to cross paths with the judicial system.
With the help of some new faces (and some old!) we are confidently aiming to improve our already "Good" rated service to "Outstanding" with a range of QI projects including a rejuvenated Music and Multimedia suite and an Activities Programme for groups both on and off the ward.
Your role will involve Primary Nurse responsibilities for one or two patients as well as embedding yourself within the existing multidisciplinary team for a cohesive and person-centred treatment plan.
Main duties of the job
This vacancy is for either an experienced or Preceptorship Band 5 Mental Health Nurse.
This position involves being in charge of the shift, leading confidently, acting as a role model for both inpatients and colleagues, planning implementing and evaluating services for our inpatients.
You will have excellent communication skills and will work towards having a good understanding of the importance of family and carers roles for our inpatients and work alongside them to provide purposeful admissions.
Working for our organisation
Foxhall House is a purpose built unit within the Old St Clements site which supports adult males with a history of mental illness and forensic backgrounds.
This includes patients who have been deemed mentally unwell via the courts, those who have become unwell in prison or those who are sent for a period of court assessment.
Patients remain with us on average of 18months and the majority work towards a safe discharge back into the community with a strong focus on rehabilitation.
We will be supportive in orienting you to the service and you will be given access to training as well nurturing any special interests that you may have.
Our Trust values underpin our approach to both patients and staff as we endeavour to work TOGETHER to provide care RESPECTFULLY in a way which produces POSITIVE experiences for all.
