Clinical Research Nurse

Position: Clinical Research Nurse
Location: London – Sarah Cannon Research Institute
Working Pattern: Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive, with excellent benefits package

We’re looking for a Clinical Research Nurse to join the Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI), a world‑leading clinical trials facility currently rated “Good” by the CQC. SCRI specialises in the development of innovative cancer therapies, including targeted and precision medicines that are shaping the future of oncology care.

At SCRI, you’ll step into one of the most advanced and pioneering oncology research environments in the UK. Our 12‑bedded clinical trials unit on Harley Street is the only private provider in the country delivering Phase I (first‑in‑human), Phase II and Phase III cancer trials, placing us at the forefront of global cancer innovation. Each month, 15–20 new patients join our studies — a pace that mirrors some of the busiest NHS research centres — offering a rare opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge science while delivering exceptional patient care.

As a Clinical Research Nurse, you will play a central role in planning, implementing, and evaluating specialist research care for patients participating in, or being considered for, clinical trial programmes. A core focus of the role is ensuring that all research activity safeguards patient well‑being and adheres to Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Working collaboratively with clinical and non‑clinical colleagues, you will help maintain the highest standards of safety and quality across the research facility.

The position involves supporting patient recruitment and contributing to the smooth delivery of early‑phase clinical studies. Flexibility across SCRI teams is essential to ensure the unit operates efficiently. Acting as a key point of contact for patients, the role provides guidance and support throughout their research journey while assisting in the coordination of a portfolio of translational clinical studies.

A key part of the role involves safeguarding patient safety by supervising and monitoring both expected and unexpected side effects of investigational drugs and other treatment modalities used in clinical trials. Clinical insight and attention to detail are vital in ensuring patients receive safe, high‑quality care throughout their time on study.

Joining SCRI means becoming part of a team where compassionate care, scientific excellence and world‑class research come together every day. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to ground breaking oncology trials while supporting patients at some of the most important moments in their treatment journey.
