Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer

About the role

Demonstrate accountability for effective governance, leadership, management and advocacy for the nursing and midwifery profession across Metro North Health. The role works collaboratively with direct operational reports, and Metro North Health facility/directorate executive leadership team members to fulfil accountabilities in accordance with Metro North Health and the Nursing and Midwifery vision, values, and strategic direction. This role engages with internal and external stakeholders to build networks and partnerships and foster contemporary models and evidence-based practice. The position promotes, nurtures and role model a culture of excellence in nursing and midwifery standards, practice, cultural safety, quality improvement, policy reform, ongoing education, workforce planning, and research.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Facilitate practice of self and others is in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
•  Undertake, and participate in ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals.
• Practice collaboratively within the interprofessional healthcare team to promote culture, safety, security and personal integrity of individuals and groups.
•  Lead the development and implementation of policies and frameworks that embed culturally safe health services, promotes diversity and addresses inequities and barriers to social inclusion.
