Breast Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist

Breast Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist
The Christie Private Care, Manchester
Permanent | Full time
Competitive salary + exceptional benefits

A breast cancer diagnosis can be one of the most challenging moments in a person's life. During this time, patients need more than outstanding clinical care. They need a trusted expert who can provide guidance, reassurance and support throughout every stage of their treatment journey.

As a Breast Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist at The Christie Private Care, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering highly personalised care and support to patients and their families. You'll become a key point of contact across the breast cancer pathway, using your specialist expertise to help patients navigate complex treatment decisions while ensuring they feel informed, supported and empowered throughout their care.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Breast Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist looking to further develop their specialist practice within one of the UK's leading cancer centres. We also welcome applications from experienced Senior Nurses at Band 6 level who have substantial breast, surgical oncology or clinical oncology experience and are ready to take the next step towards a specialist CNS career.

Whilst a breast care qualification is desirable, it is not essential. At HCA Healthcare UK, we're committed to investing in our nurses and developing future clinical leaders. For the right candidate, we'll offer a structured Clinical Nurse Specialist development pathway, providing access to training, mentorship and professional development opportunities to support your transition into an established Breast Cancer CNS role.

At HCA UK we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver the very best care. We care that you want a career you can be proud of. We care that you want working conditions that support your health and wellbeing. Let us care for you and your career, the same way you do for others.

What you'll do
As a Breast Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist, you'll be a key worker throughout the patient pathway, providing expert support, coordinating care and ensuring patients have access to the information and services they need.

You will:
Manage a specialist caseload of patients with breast cancer, providing continuity of care from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship.
Deliver holistic assessments, expert clinical advice and emotional support to patients and their families.
Work collaboratively with consultants, surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate complex treatment pathways and deliver outstanding patient care.
Advocate for patients within multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
Work closely with the Breast CNS Team at The Wilmslow Hospital, providing cross site support during periods of absence and helping meet increased service demand when required to ensure continuity of care for patients.

What you'll bring
We're looking for a compassionate and experienced nurse who is passionate about breast cancer care and committed to delivering exceptional patient experiences.

You'll have:
Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
Current experience working as a Breast Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist, or significant experience as a Senior Nurse (Band 6 or equivalent) within breast services, surgical oncology or clinical oncology.
A strong understanding of the breast cancer pathway and experience supporting patients with complex clinical and emotional needs.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the confidence to support patients through sensitive and challenging conversations.
The ability to work autonomously whilst building strong partnerships across multidisciplinary teams.

A recognised breast care qualification is desirable but not essential. Most importantly, you'll bring the clinical expertise, ambition and commitment to develop within a specialist breast cancer service. In return, we'll invest in your professional development through our Clinical Nurse Specialist pathway and ongoing learning opportunities.
