Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust was formed on 1st April 1998 following the merger of Crawley, Horsham and East Surrey NHS Trusts. It spends over £150m of taxpayers' money to provide over 400,000 treatments each year across eastern Surrey and north-west Sussex.
Just over 2,500 people work for the Trust. Our major site is East Surrey Hospital and we also provide a range of services at Crawley, Dorking, Caterham Dene and Horsham hospitals in partnership with the Primary Care Trusts that own and manage those sites.
Each year:
We carry out about 25,000 operations;
Over 4,100 babies are born at East Surrey hospital;
200,000 outpatient consultations take place;
We provide 180,000 Diagnostic Imaging examinations.
