Charge Nurse- Urgent Care Located in the heart of London`s esteemed medical district, the newly-refurbished hospital offers a wide range of medical and surgical specialties. Supported by world-class doctors from leading London teaching hospitals, the hospital has 120 beds, including a purpose-built intensive care unit, catering for Level 3 patients. The eight fully-equipped theatres include three laminar flow theatres for orthopaedic surgery, a hybrid theatre to enable complex vascular surgery, a robotic surgery suite along with some of the most advanced radiological diagnostic facilities in the country. Job Description The Charge Nurse will have day to day responsibility, for the management of the Urgent Care Centre services within the hospital, providing a visible and authoritative presence in a clinical setting. The main purpose of this role is to provide and strengthen clinical leadership within defined areas by acting as a positive role model, who practices evidence based care, to ensure high standards of clinical care. Duties and Responsibilities Models the organisation`s values and mission/vision in his/her daily work and interaction with others. Works collaboratively with other managers to implement and achieve the unit`s short and long term goals which are aligned with the organisational vision/mission. Develops Department`s long and short range goals aligned with vision/mission and strategies to achieve these goals. Serves as clinical expert resource and involves other disciplines to achieve quality care and service. Is flexible, adapting to new ideas and models. Actively seeks ongoing feedback to make necessary changes/adjustments. Consistently models effective leadership through personal behaviour. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with hospital policies, applicable laws and regulations. Skills & Experience Registered Nurse Level 1 Valid NMC registration and PREP requirements ENB 998 or equivalent Recognised qualification in relevant speciality Significant experience in speciality Evidence of management of staff within specialty Health and Safety and other mandatory training Dealing with enquiries from health professionals, patients, families and general public About the Individual The Successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate evidence of professional/personal development and have the ability to be analytical and to think strategically . Excellent Management/supervisory skills and key to the success of this role.
