We are now recruiting for dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join our nursing team as support workers at Priory Hospital Burgess Hill.
Led by our new Hospital Director, Mark Taylor and working alongside our newly established Therapy teams you will be joining us at an exciting time for the development of our services.

As a Support Worker on our wards you will be working to support our patients in their recovery overseen by qualified nurses.
Burgess Hill Hospital offers a unique setting for caring individuals who are interested in gaining experience in a number of different mental health services:
As a support worker your role and duties will include:
• Engaging with patients to provide them with support to keep them safe and promote recovery
• Observing patients at intervals dependant on level of risk
• Working with the nurses to assess risk and escalating concerns when required
• To contribute to the continual safeguarding of the patients in our care
• Facilitating security checks within the ward and completing relevant paperwork
• Escorting patients on leave for everyday activities such as shopping, leisure trips, home visits and appointments
• Encouraging patients to look after their health and wellbeing by participating in leisure and social activities such as sports and eating healthily.
We provide extensive training over 3 weeks for all of our Support Workers so previous experience in a care setting is desirable but not essential.
What we look for in our Support Workers:
• Educated to a minimum NVQ 1 or GCSE's in Maths and English and IT literate - to complete relevant documentation
• Ability to work flexibility - to adapt to the needs of our patients
• Common sense approach to problem solving - for you to thrive within a challenging and varied role.
• Motivation and initiative - to go the extra mile for our patients
• Some appreciation of Mental Health problems - to help you understand our patients needs
