Description
We are looking to recruit a confident and knowledgeable strategic manager to lead our excellent Mental Health and Counselling services and drive forward our holistic approach to tackling mental ill health and promoting support and recovery at the University of Chester. This post will manage our well-established and dedicated student counselling team, offering clinical expertise and support when required as well as our, soon to be appointed, Mental Health Team Leader.
You will be educated to Degree level, have a relevant professional qualification in the field of mental health and be registered with a relevant professional body. Experience of leading a team is essential as is significant experience in the field of mental health support and/or counselling. Your ability to form new, and maintain existing, external health partnerships will be vital as will be your ability to remain calm, assess risk and think innovatively during often challenging and pressured situations. An understanding of the challenges faced by university students is also beneficial for this role.
The successful role holder will take the lead in developing further our mental health strategy and support the wider Student Services department with relevant ongoing and new strategic projects.
