We are currently recruiting for Staff Nurses at The Harborne Hospital. Part of the World’s largest private healthcare group; providing award winning primary, acute and complex care.

Contract Type: Permanent, full time 37.5 hours
Salary range: Competitive dependent on experience

About the facility:
 
The Harborne Hospital - part of HCA Healthcare UK is a brand new £100million, purpose built 50 bed, multi-speciality private hospital opening in Birmingham in January 2024. Located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus, the hospital will have the deep clinical infrastructure, equipment and facilities and expert, experienced teams to deliver full clinical pathways across a mix of specialties and sub-specialties at all levels of complexity including Cardiology, Cancer and Complex Surgery. The Harborne Hospital is the 4th NHS partnership within this network, partnering with University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust.

Role overview:

As a Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating high standards of specialist care to ensure that patients are cared for in a safe, caring and comfortable environment. This will include meeting their medical, physical and emotional needs by effectively communicating with the patient and their families. You will work in a manner that puts the patient at the centre of all you do and strive to deliver exceptional standards, consistently. The role will work across a full rotating shift pattern, and provide an opportunity to care for patients who have undergone surgery across multiple specialties.

Duties and responsibilities: 
Ensure individualised care plans are in place for all patients in the designated clinical area.

Ensure an ongoing welcoming, caring and safe environment is provided for patients and their families.

To develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary to provide holistic, evidence-based nursing care. This includes completion of the Unit Orientation booklet and clinical skills competencies.

Work within and monitor standards of care within the defined policies, procedures, standards and protocols of the Unit to ensure adherence to, and delivery of, a high-quality service.

Comply with and promote infection control standards and relevant care bundles to the department

Promote discharge planning commencing at admission and educate junior staff with regards to discharge planning.

Skills and experience:
NMC Registered Nurse (RN Adult)

Haematology / Oncology experience

Understanding of the importance of research and evidence-based practice
