Senior Charge Nurse - Critical Care

Applications are invited from registered adult nurses with current NMC registration, with substantial experience in Critical Care nursing to join our enthusiastic and innovative team within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Critical Care Department. The department includes the Intensive Care Unit/High Dependency/Multi Trauma Services & High Acuity Unit Beatson Oncology Centre services for the NHS GG&C South Sector.

This is a full time post (37.5 hours per week) Monday - Friday. The Intensive Care/High Dependency Units care for patients whose conditions range from single to multi organ failure, who may require ventilatory support, either invasively or non invasively, cardiovascular and renal support. The department is a tertiary referral unit for Vascular, ENT and Renal services.

You will have the continuing 24 hour responsibility for the supervision of the assessment of care needs and delivery/maintenance of optimal care outcomes, ensuring that the highest standard of personalized nursing care is delivered to the patient requiring Critical Care support. This being in partnership with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.

As well as having current NMC registration it is also essential you have evidence of professional development, IT skills, excellent communication skills and proven record and enthusiasm for working in a Critical Care environment. The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday (day shift).
