Role: Paediatric Senior staff Nurse – Outpatient Department
Site: Chiswick Outpatient. Will be required to work across Chiswick Outpatient and The Portland Hospital
Full time permanent: 37.5hrs per week. (long days & Weekend shifts) Open 8am-8pm and flexibility will be required to cover these times

We’re looking for a Paediatric Senior Staff Nurse to join our Outpatient team at The Portland Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC.

The Portland Hospital is the only independent hospital in the UK entirely dedicated to women and children. Our inpatient and outpatient specialties reflect this, providing clinical expertise in Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Women`s Health.

The Senior Staff Nurse is accountable and responsible for the care delivery and nursing management of a designated area/s, including the supervision of staff and students. In order to achieve this the Junior sister nurse will work in a supervisory capacity and be expected to be a role model for the team thus enhancing the patient experience, improving patient outcomes and contributing to delivering high standards of care and compassion at all times.
Take charge of the unit and manage patient flow safely and efficiently

Co-ordinate patient care with the multidisciplinary team

Manage allocated resources effectively and efficiently.

Ensure documentation is completed accurately and within agreed timescales

Ensure the provision of appropriate mentors for student nurses and provide a supportive environment.

Ensure that tailored care plans are in place for all patients in the designated clinical area.

What you’ll bring:
NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support

Understanding of Safeguarding issues with Safeguarding Level 3 training

Must have experience working within an outpatient department

Excellent written and verbal communication

Excellent knowledge of clinical governance and experience with audits
