An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated registered nurse to join our Specialist Palliative Care Service.

We are looking for an individual who will deliver an open and honest approach within the role, delivering a high standard of holistic assessment and effective communication skills. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team with evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the post is essential. The Senior Charge Nurse will be accountable for the delivery of a responsive service, providing strong leadership and operational skills, specialist clinical knowledge and expertise within the field of Palliative and End of Life Care.

This role will provide senior leadership and operational management for the Palliative Care Hub which is part of a test of change within the current Palliative Care Services. The post holder will lead, manage and co-ordinate the Palliative Care Hub, ensuring early identification of care where specialist advice and support is enhanced through a new model of care delivery. The Senior Charge Nurse will be heavily involved in shaping and developing the service.

This is a particularly exciting time for the development of Specialist Palliative Care Services within NHS Borders, with ongoing service improvements to support direction of the Palliative and End of Life Care Team vision.
