The Role

Forward-looking focused and visionary Kingston University is yours to achieve. You will maintain and enhance the reputation of our School of Nursing as you take this key role in our mental health nursing section. It’s a chance to develop innovative teaching strategies to enhance students’ learning in the area of Mental Health Nursing Practice. Articulate and well respected, you will teach on programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, taking the lead on modules where appropriate. In particular, you will have the ability to inspire our students and will have a keen interest in developing education. Alongside being involved in the pastoral care of students, you will be encouraged and supported to further your interests in research, enterprise or professional practice.

The Person

It’s likely that you have a proven track record of innovation in teaching backed up by a teaching qualification such as UKPSF 2 or PGCHE. You may, however, be a highly qualified and credible advanced practitioner, keen to develop a career in higher education. Ideally you will have a Masters (or working towards one) or equivalent in the field of mental health nursing/healthcare but will have a BSc. You will also have a high level of clinical competence and credibility in a relevant area of expertise; have excellent communication skills and the confidence to inspire a diverse range of students and staff to exceed all expectations. You will also have a keen interest in research and to work towards development of a national reputation in the field of Mental Health Nursing Practice. The Faculty supports new members of staff to gain appropriate qualifications and are keen to support ongoing academic and professional development.
