Coventry University has seen huge global successes in recent years and provides high quality education to our students. The University is placed 13th in the UK University league tables (Guardian 2019), we were awarded Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework (2017) and have been named as University of the Year for Student Experience (The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019). As part of our goal to become one of the UK's leading universities we are therefore investing in people to drive our excellence in teaching and learning and looking for talented individuals who share our passion for teaching and supporting learning.
As the largest School in the University we have a broad provision of health professions related courses across Dietetics, Nursing (all four fields), Nursing Associates, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Operating Department Practice, Paramedic and Physiotherapy all leading to professional registration. We also have a large portfolio of CPD courses at UG and PG levels.
The University has been offering a nursing associate foundation degree since 2017 and it is a highly regarded apprenticeship programme. The programme was shortlisted for a Student Nursing Times and Apprenticeship award in 2019 and a number of students who completed the first programme have secured places on the prestigious Florence Nightingale Leadership course. We were amongst the first universities to gain approval to offer the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) approved nursing associate programme. In addition to the established apprenticeship route, the University will offer a direct entry route on to the programme at the Coventry and London campus for 2020 and Scarborough in 2021.
We are looking for individuals to work at associate lecturer, lecturer and assistant professor (senior lecturer) levels and are permanent full time positions. The post holders will be based at our central London campus and work with and be supported by an established team of academics based in Coventry. A good understanding of the Nursing and Midwifery Councils new standards of proficiency and standards for supervision and assessment is required. Previous experience of teaching HEI based educational programmes would be highly desirable. Applicants will need to hold current NMC registration. The salary is dependent upon the skills and qualifications of the individual.
The University offers academic and professional development and provides a Post Graduate Certificate Teaching Qualification for individuals who do not hold a recognised teaching qualification. You will be supported to develop your interests in order to progress your career including support to develop and facilitate teaching for online courses.
