Salary up to £50,000 per annum
37.5 hours per week to be flexibly in accordance with the needs of the role
The Mountbatten Group (Mountbatten Isle of Wight and Countess Mountbatten Hospice Southampton) have embarked on a new and exciting stage in its evolution. Our aim is to further develop our services across the Isle of Wight and Southampton by creating a recognised centre of excellence for education and learning. This role can based on either the Isle of Wight or at Countess Mountbatten Hospice in Southampton.

We have a dedicated, combined workforce of over 980 people, approximately 360 employees and over 620 volunteers whose commitment and skills combined with their collective passion and energy enable coordinated care and support to those with end-of-life needs across the Isle of Wight and Hampshire.
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, motivated and committed individual as our new Head of Education and Training who will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of our Education Development Strategy for the Mountbatten Group.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the post holder will lead the Mountbatten Group education, training and development service to meet the present and future needs of the Group.
Leading the Education and Training Team across both sites the role will develop close partnerships with service leads, managers and multi-professional teams to create an organisational culture where education, learning and research are used to underpin and transform service delivery, both locally, nationally and internationally as a recognised lead provider of End of Life training. The Mountbatten Group has embarked on a £1.5m capital appeal to create a new centre for end of life care in the community, which will include a new suite of education, training and learning spaces.
We are looking for an organised individual who will be committed to the delivery of Mountbatten’s strategy and values. You will be a confident, articulate, open and transparent leader who has the ability to work in partnership across the Organisation, regardless of where you are located. You will have line manager and leadership experience with excellent interpersonal skills.
You will have a background in education, training and people development, be a registered health care professional with a minimum of 5 years post registration experience and hold a master’s degree. You will also hold or be willing to work towards your PhD or clinical doctorate.
Having worked in a similar education healthcare role you will have an understanding of the challenges and opportunities in delivering an excellent learning experience for all staff, volunteers and stakeholders.
