ENDOSCOPY STAFF NURSE

We are currently recruiting for an Endoscopy Staff Nurse based @ The Wellington Hospital
This role is based at our newly refurbished Endoscopy Centre , the centre offers a full range of upper and lower GI Endoscopic investigations and treatments, including Endoscopic Ultrasound. A dedicated X-ray screening room also supports the area allowing consultants to accurately perform new and often intricate techniques.
Three Endoscopy suites are equipped with the very latest in videoscopy technology which provides the operators with high definition image capture, including still photography of procedures undertaken. An integrated patient reporting and audit software system supports all our endoscopy procedures ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. Detailed reports, with high definition images are available in a number of formats, within minutes of the procedure.
The centre has 12 specifically designed en-suite recovery bays which have been built in a traditional open style recovery ward; increasing privacy, cleanliness and comfort for each patient.
The unit has a team approach, bringing together for the benefit of patients, the combined experience of consultants specialising in upper and lower gastro intestinal conditions together with specialists in endoscopy.
As a Staff Nurse you will work as part of the Endoscopy team to provide effective, research-based care, taking responsibility for the assessment, planning implementation and delivery of high-quality programmes of patient care and being responsible for running procedure lists and be included in the On call support service to the Endoscopy Unit.
This is a full-time role working 37.5hrs per week (Mon-Fri) plus on calls
Salary: £32,000-£35,855 dependent on experience Plus HCA benefits

Duties & Responsibilities:
Rotational participation in Endoscopy On Call Rota.
Take appropriate action when absence occurs or is expected.
Conduct continuous supervision and revision of staff resources in an effective and cost-efficient way
Provide appropriate support and advice, utilising members of the MDT as required.
Assisting Consultant with the various Endoscopic procedures,
Record, monitor and interpret patient’s vital signs.
Report to nurse in charge appropriately when required.
Attend Adult Basic Life Support/ILS training
Skills & Experience:
Registered Nurse Level 1
ENB course/experience in Endoscopy
Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures
Health and Safety training
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Demonstrable experience in working in a busy, changing environment
