An opportunity has become available for a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated individual who wishes to be considered for the role of Divisional Director of Nursing in Emergency and Acute Medicine.  

The post holder will need to be passionate about improvement, driven with a track record of managing a team, delivering change, motivating teams, raising and maintaining high quality standards and be able to demonstrate how they have used their clinical and management expertise to analyse patient pathways, identify opportunities to optimise these and develop new pathways and models of care to improve patient experience.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide professional leadership to the nursing workforce for the Emergency Centre within the Division supporting the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the Medicine and Emergency Care Division and the Trust. The post holder will provide an expert level of professional and operational support across the Centre, Division and the wider Trust.

The post holder will take responsibility for nursing services across the Emergency Centre within the Division across all hospital sites ensuring that effective nursing care is delivered by appropriately trained and competent nurses and non-registered support staff developing a culture that encourages nurses to be, compassionate, innovative and challenging in the interest of patient care and professional practice.

Working for your organisation

The post holder will work closely with and alongside the Divisional Director of Nursing in Medicine, Divisional Director of Operations and the Clinical Director for the Emergency and Acute Medicine Division as well as the Chief Nurse and other professionals in the management team. The Head of Nursing for the Emergency and Acute Medicine Division will be a highly visible and credible presence across the Care Group, contributing to strategy, working to ensure the highest standards of care, setting and maintaining standards of clinical excellence and continuously striving to improve the experience for patients, families and carers.
