Suffolk has a range of inpatient , crisis and community services spread across a large geographical footprint . the Director Of Nursing will work directly with the care group leadership team to ensure senior nursing leadership and presence within the Suffolk directorate . Alongside the care group leadership team you will not only just focus on quality and safety but drive this agenda with determination and tenacity . You will ensure the local safety plan and quality improvement plan are relevant, implemented , embedded and sustained . You will support the teams in all areas of their improvement work ensuring a real focus on the fundamentals, you will be instrumental through role modelling , visibility , presence and concise, clear expectations to enable teams to challenge ourselves , our practice , our thinking and make the improvements required
Main duties of the job
You will also be working closely with the ICS , involved in the transformation work whilst also being part of the system quality planning, improvement and control arena .
Leading on workforce for our registered and unregistered nurses , you will manage the lead for rostering and safe care ensuring there are robust safer staffing systems in place.
You will also be actively involved in Trust wide recruitment , thinking and working with Lead Nurses to introduce innovative recruitment initiatives , developing new roles and different ways of working
You will be part of a vibrant nursing directorate and work with other Directors of nursing to develop both a nursing and nursing workforce strategy . You will be part of Trust wide governance committees and Actively participate in strategic thinking, providing cover for the Chief Nurse as and when required .
