The Priory Hospital Glasgow is one of the UK's leading centres for the treatment of depression, anxiety and addictions.  The Hospital is led by an effective and experienced multidisciplinary team.  They work together to deliver personalised, recovery-focussed treatment programmes and care pathways, as well as a range of therapies to meet all of the patients' needs.

In addition, our Eating Disorder Unit is the largest specialist inpatient Unit of its kind in Scotland and due to the quality of its care, patients come for treatment from all over the UK.  In May 2015 the Unit was included in the Quality Network for Eating Disorders (QED) under the Royal College of Surgeon's Accreditation for Inpatient Mental Health Services (AIMS).

About The Role:

We are looking for an experienced RMN to undertake Deputy Ward Manager duties during existing Deputy Ward Managers Maternity Leave within our General/Addictions Ward under the supervision of the Ward Manager. 

Hours of work are averaged at 37.5hrs per week

 week 1: 4 shifts

Week 2: 3 shifts

Week 3: 3 shifts

Week 4: 3 shifts

 As an independent Acute Psychiatric Hospital we can offer you the opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive environment.  We are committed to providing training opportunities for staff at all levels and actively encourage professional development.  Staff are supported by means of regular clinical supervision.

 The successful candidates will be required to apply for PVG Scheme Membership from Disclosure Scotland.  Further information can be obtained from www.disclosurescotland.co.uk

Deputy Ward Manager Responsibilites:

- Supervision and management of Nurses and Healthcare Assistants 

- Planning assessing, delivering and evaluating individual care

- Fully assisting in e-roster of nurse shift systems

- Participate fully with the multidisciplinary team

- Undertake direct patient care.

- Sound knowledge of regulatory requirements

- Assist in setting and maintaining clinical standards and 

  implementation of clinical audits.

- Ensure Health and Safety policies and procedures are complied with

- Deputise in the absence of the Ward Manager.

- Demonstrate consistent leadership and role modelling.

With a kind, caring and calm approach, the successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with patients, relatives and colleagues.
