An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and influential professional clinical leader to join our Trust in the role of Deputy Director of Nursing. Working alongside the Executive Director of Nursing and Allied Health Professionals, this role offers the opportunity for an experienced team player who can provide strong leadership to the clinical governance and professional leadership agenda across the organisation. This would therefore provide an excellent opportunity for a senior nurse looking to strengthen and consolidate their existing experience, and in preparation for their first executive director role.

You will have proven strategic vision, excellent leadership skills, and strong record of success that will support our constant commitment to the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality services. This will include the ability to promote a strong focus on patient safety, a ‘just culture’, and the use of quality improvement to ensure sustainable results. The successful candidate will hold a portfolio of key responsibilities including infection prevention and control, safeguarding and patient experience. Engaging, attracting and retaining the nursing workforce are also a critical part of the role and you will have responsibility for enacting the refreshed Nursing and Allied Health Professional Strategy in partnership with the Director of Allied Health Professional across the Trust.

This role is also a very external facing component working with our commissioners and regulators to provide the necessary assurance required, and also working with our health and social care partners in order to respond to the needs of our communities. Experience in working with key stakeholders is therefore also important for the role.

The post is full time (37.5 hours per week) and requires flexibility in terms of working hours.
