Permanent, part time post equating to 0.33 full time equivalent
Salary range: £38,460 - £44,559 per annum, pro rata
Sidney Sussex College wishes to recruit an experienced medical professional to fulfil the role of part time College Nurse. This is a permanent part-time position, working during University terms (ten weeks starting in early October; ten weeks starting in early March; ten weeks starting in mid-April), plus up to 4 further weeks to include the last two weeks of the long summer vacation, May week and Graduation week. Flexibility will be required as some of these hours are worked as part of an “on-call” rota.
This post is to deliver high quality, effective medical advice and support to students, Fellows, staff and visitors to the College which will include assessing and dealing with ailments, injuries and following up on medical emergencies. The successful candidate will be a registered nurse (current NMC registration) normally with at least 3 years’ experience working in primary care, A&E, minor injuries unit or another relevant front-line clinical role. This post would suit a medical professional with strong organisational and communication skills, can be straight forward, yet with the ability to generate trust. Some experience of supporting those with mental health difficulties would be valuable.
The salary is based on the University single salary spine between points 47 – 52. This currently equates to £38,460 - £44,559 per annum (pay award pending), which will be calculated, pro rata to the part time and part year hours. Salary progression through the range is discretionary.
