Clinical Nurse Manager - Children&39;s Nursing Management

The post holder has professional and managerial responsibility for the nursing team within a defined number of wards /clinical service areas and has overall responsibility for both clinical and staff governance issues. To participate in the development of clinically and financially effective patient services, enabling all opportunities for patient centred care to be realised, ensuring key service objectives are achieved.

Has overall responsibility for supervision of the assessment of care needs and the delivery and maintenance of optimal care outcomes.
Ensuring that all members of the multi disciplinary team deliver the highest standard of personalised nursing care to patients and their families.

Provide expert professional and clinical care advice to patients, carers and multi-disciplinary team based on national recommendations and policies interpreting and adapting them for local implementation, within relevant areas
To provide visible and effective leadership for the nursing service within the clinical areas. Acting as a role model, the individual is expected to motivate staff to provide high standards of care and ensure undertaking of staff appraisal and PDP process
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
