The Wilmslow Hospital -an exclusive high street facility is a pioneering diagnostic and day surgery facility, the only one of its kind in the Northwest.
The CNO will assume responsibility for clinical services across the regional Joint Venture facilities. Working collaboratively with JV partners the CNO will ensure the delivery of safe, caring, effective, responsive, well led services and care.
The CNO functions at the ‘C Suite’ level to provide effective clinical leadership, coordinating leaders to deliver patient care, treatment and services. He/She is responsible for planning, organising and directing the overall operation of clinical teams within the facility to deliver the highest standards of patient care, promoting and ensuring a culture of continual quality improvement and learning. The CNO ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided within the facility.
The CNO assists in formulating the budget and maintains efficient and effective departmental operations while meeting compliance with all external regulatory bodies.
The emphasis of the role is on delivering excellence in patient care and experience in a culture of continual quality improvement and learning. Focus on minimising risk and harm to patients is fundamental, through strategic vision; defined professional and healthcare standards and robust systems of quality assurance.

Duties & Responsibilities
Governance, Quality and Clinical Leadership
Is the Accountable Officer for management of controlled drugs and provides reports to the LIN.
Is responsible for information governance and security and is Caldecott Guardian for the facility.
To ensure that the clinical departments contribute to the facilities governance strategy, by ensuring that clinical and nursing standards are set, monitored and evaluated.
Accept delegated accountability for the facility with respect to complaints, taking overall responsibility for the management of complaints in line with ISCAS code and learning taking from them.
To ensure that the clinical teams are aware of HCA Healthcare UK’s complaints procedure and that they act as the patient’s advocate at all times.
To work with all staff, medical and clinical, in the promotion and management of clinical audit and ensure an effective audit programme is in place.
To ensure compliance with organisational, accreditation and insurance standards.
To develop robust systems for monitoring progress on clinical governance and produce regular monitoring reports for the Clinical Governance Group Committee.
Oversee the implementation of HCA’s risk management strategy, monitor against the targets and review as appropriate.
Nursing and clinical agenda
Establish and nurture a professional practice model which supports the nursing agenda and promotes alignment and integration of the nursing strategy with the rest of the clinical teams.
Provides leadership and advocacy for all aspect of nursing and allied health professionals strategy
Performs regular rounds on patients, families, employees, and physicians to enhance communication, ensure alignment, oversee operations, and foster an exceptional experience.
Strategises and drives process improvements focused on innovative care delivery and/or operational models designed to improve clinical services, outcomes, patient throughput, and patient safety.
Collaborates with other disciplines for the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures that address how patient care needs of the patient population served are assessed, met, and evaluated.
