Become a Nurse in the Royal Navy and have a career with a difference...

As a qualified Nurse, you can join the Royal Navy as a Rating or as a Commissioned Officer. Gain and maintain clinical skills in a wide range of acute and trauma areas within one of our Joint Hospital Group Units and be ready to deploy your nursing skills anywhere around the world. This would be on board RFA Argus, our Maritime Role 3 capability or on board our newest Aircraft Carriers- HMS Queen Elizabeth or the Prince of Wales, providing limb and life-saving surgery. You could find yourself responding to a humanitarian crisis or conflict and you’ll demonstrate your versatility as part of a world-class multidisciplinary team working both in the maritime environment or on land.

Alongside developing your leadership and management skills, you could also have the opportunity to gain further specialist qualifications in Critical Care Nursing, Emergency Medicine, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Acute Surgery and Medicine or Primary Healthcare. On top of that, you’ll get excellent rates of pay (£33,667 on completion of Initial Naval Training as a minimum), non-contributory pension, adventurous training, sports and a Forces Help to Buy house purchase scheme.
