About the Role

The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, experienced professional to the role of Deputy Manager.

This is a multi-disciplinary team responsible for community mental health provision for children and adolescents up to age 18 who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties.

The service operates at Step 3 of the Stepped Care Approach as defined within the Strategic Plan for Mental Health and Wellbeing 2015-2020. The team comprises of a range of disciplines including Nursing staff, Psychiatrists, Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapy, Community Support Staff and Administration staff.

The role of Deputy Manager is intrinsic to the effective operational delivery of services.

You will need:

  • To hold a  Nationally recognised qualification in Mental Health Nursing /Allied Health Care Professional
  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience post qualifying ‘recent’ experience in mental health care, specific to children and adolescents with moderate to severe mental health problems
  • Experience or awareness of managing a team in a community setting
  • A higher academic qualification at Degree or Msc level
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent team work skills and a commitment to service development
  • Significant supervisory and leadership skills and experience in the use of Appraisal systems
