Senior Healthcare Assistant - Sunley and Seacole Ward, Women`s Medium Secure IPU

Two positions available

In this role you will be the most Senior Healthcare Assistant on the ward, supporting qualified nurses and MDT to deliver exceptional care to our patients. You will take a lead in mentoring junior HCA`s. Knowledge and experience of working with this patient group would be an advantage as you will be a role model to your team, demonstrating a flexible, individual and person centred approach. Safety and therapeutic engagement is the key components of our care delivery focus and should be a key demonstrable interest and ability required for this role.

Sunley

Sunley is an assessment and stabilisation ward for Women aged 18-65 on admission who have a diagnosis of severe emotional, psychiatric and behavioural difficulties; pose a significant risk of harming themselves or others and require care within a medium secure environment.
Once assessed and stabilised patients will typically step through to either Stowe, our specialist psychosis plus treatment and recovery ward, or Seacole. If their care and treatment needs are of a personality disorder nature.

Seacole

Seacole is a specialist Personality Disorder ward within the Women's Mental Health Pathway, based in Smyth House building of St Andrew`s` Northampton site. It offers treatment for women with a primary diagnosis of personality disorder for 15 women within a medium secure setting. The Seacole Ward team aims to provide a high quality service offering assessment, treatment, care and security for women who present with Personality Disorder difficulties.  The treatment philosophy is of a consistent approach, boundaries, building levels of skill in managing distress.  Ensuring there is individual care planning and least restrictive practice.  We assess psychological treatment needs individually.
