Do you have a passion for getting people talking about their health? And do you have experience of delivering training to different audiences?
We're looking for someone with a nursing background and excellent training and communication skills, to join the Health Community Engagement team as a Trainer for Cancer Research UK's well-respected and highly successful Talk Cancer training programme (cruk.org/talkcancer).
Our Talk Cancer training equips a wide range of health, volunteer and community audiences across the UK with the knowledge, skills and confidence to promote cancer awareness in their community. Our results show that we are having an impact, and the training is well-received, with 99% of trainees saying that they would recommend it to others.
In this role you will also be training members of the Cancer Awareness Movement, an exciting initiative to recently join the team which helps to extend the reach of our health messages through equipping people online to share information and have conversations about health with their friends and family. On an ad-hoc basis you will also be engaging with members of the public through face-to-face conversations as part of Cancer Research UK's Cancer Awareness Roadshow.
At Cancer Research UK we are working to reduce cancer deaths and increase cancer survival. We have an ambitious goal to see 3 in 4 people surviving cancer by 2034. Through this role, you will be playing a key part in working towards our organisational strategy, helping to reach people across the UK with trusted health information, and to promote cancer prevention and earlier diagnosis in communities where the need is greatest, encouraging them to take positive action.
If you have any questions about the role then please contact:
- Yvonne - Lead Trainer (; tel: )
- Gill - Nurse Lead for Cancer Awareness Training (; tel. ) From 12th August only.
