Team Leader/Public Health Nurse for Looked After Children
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated public health nurse to join the LAC Health Team, which aims to support and improve health outcomes for children and young people who looked after and accommodated away from home by three local authorities in Forth Valley. The successful candidate should be experienced in working with children and adolescents and have a sound understanding of their physical and mental health needs, while acknowledging and understanding the impact that childhood adversity has on the developing child. The successful candidate must also have experience and understanding of current child protection policies and agendas. Enhanced communication and organisational skills are essential. The post holder will work within The LAC Health Team, but must also have an ability to work independently and set own diary priorities. The successful candidate must demonstrate flexibility to respond and empathise with vulnerable and complex young people who may present with poor emotional wellbeing and who are often in crisis. Experience working in the community setting is essential. Ability to travel throughout the Forth Valley area for service delivery is also essential for this post.
