An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established Pastoral support team as a part time School Nurse. Based predominantly in Junior School with responsibilities covering Senior School and Rose Court Nursery, Headingley until their relocation in September 2020, you will provide a high quality service of care to pupils and contribute to the Medical/First Aid provision across the School community.
As part of the role, you will administer medication according to the School’s medicine policy and oversee the supervision of storage of medicines. You will work with parents, carers, specialist health professionals and others to develop in school care plans, as well as use evidence-based practice to develop and maintain a high quality of nursing care to the pupils.
To be successful you will have a professional nursing qualification (RGN) and at minimum 12 months post registration experience with experience of working in paediatric / teenager and young adult healthcare. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to understand other’s needs and perspectives.
Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday – Friday, term time only + 10 additional days. Plus additional hours on a Saturday on a 2 in 3 rota basis to cover Sports fixtures, predominantly in the Autumn and Spring terms. Actual hours and days of week to be discussed at interview and confirmed on appointment.
Contract: Permanent, Part time, Term time
Grade: GS5 points 25 – 27 (£25,463 - £27,358 per annum full time equivalent. Actual salary payable £11,808 - £12,686 per annum)
