Situated in the semi-rural area of Steeton with easy access to Three Valleys Hospital and excellent transport links to the surrounding area, the hospital is ideally located for safe, structured and gradual reintegration into the local community.
A multidisciplinary team work together to develop personalised, recovery focused programmes within the hospitals care pathways. By adopting an enabling approach and social care model, the team can support service users to achieve and maintain optimum functioning and place high emphasis on maximising their quality of life and prevent re-admission to acute services.
We have a staff nurse or senior staff nurse role available in our specialist dementia service. This is a small, 9 bedded unit for old males who present certain challenging behaviours and are unsuitable for mainstream care or nursing homes. The ward has a 9:4 patient to staff ratio. Increased staffing allows us to provided more personalised care, manage challenging behaviour effectively and participate in more 1-1 work with patients. This is a truly unique role, combining strong needs of both mental and physical health.
You will play a critical role as valued member of our well established Multi-disciplinary team, be responsible for the delivery of outstanding care to our patients and mentor and support junior members of the team.
We are looking for individuals with motivation and drive along with excellent team working skills, who enjoy variety and purpose in their role.
The ability to work well under pressure and to rise to any challenge is a must.
