Advanced Mental Health Practitioner & Prescriber
I am recruiting for an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with significant post registration experience to join this specialist Mental Health care provider as Advanced Mental Health Practitioner and Prescriber in St Helens. My client is a well-respected mental health care provider of inpatient and transitional rehabilitation programmes with state of the art facilities. The all-female service provides care to those diagnosed with conditions including personality disorders and other complex mental health needs, including those detained under the Mental Health Act.
You will have experience working in a similar role providing specialist assessment, treatment and interventions. You will be competent across a range of clinical skills and be able to use advanced critical thinking to analyse and interpret history, symptoms and diagnostic information. The ideal candidate will be confident in the management of patients to incorporate physiological, psychological and pharmacological considerations. The service aims to provide patient-focused and evidence-based care for patients whose needs cannot be met by general mental health services.
In your role as Advanced Mental Health Practitioner and Prescriber you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, to meet and deliver care relevant to the needs of your patients. It is expected that you will work as an autonomous and accountable practitioner who can work collaboratively to determine a differential diagnosis and initiate appropriate treatment and care. You will provide nursing leadership and act as a mentor to junior members of staff and healthcare assistants. In this role it is expected that you will only work within your professional scope of practice, adhere to professional boundaries and be accountable for providing care from admission onwards.

- Registered Nurse (RMN) qualified currently working at Advanced Practitioner level
- Evidence of competency in teaching and assessing
- Non-medical prescribing qualification V300
- Post registration experience
- Current and valid registration with the NMC and a legal right to work in the UK
