Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to work under the direction of Physiotherapists with patients within acute services. You will provide physiotherapy programme and rehabilitation activities to patients with acute, chronic or complex needs within the guidelines provided by the Physiotherapists. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday). The attractive and competitive salary for this role is £21,000 - £26,314 and will be dependent upon skills and experience. Duties & Responsibilities

• To assist Physiotherapists in the management and care of their patients as well as implement and evaluate physiotherapy intervention under the guidance/supervision of a Physiotherapist once trained • Working as part of a multi-discipline team, you will also carry out administrative duties and participate in team meetings; understanding patient’s journey from admission to discharge through the hospital • Follow Physiotherapy Assistant treatment plans as documented by Physiotherapist for independent treatment sessions • Lead/assist in carrying out exercise class sessions and activities in conjunction with therapists • Completion of daily admin tasks, including basic data input and checking of patient charges • Maintain adequate stock levels in the department • Communicate effectively with therapists, patients, their relatives, carers and staff in all matters relating to patient care, treatment and service delivery • Keep the department clean and tidy as well as ensure equipment and aids are regularly cleaned and checked for safe use • Identifying opportunities to improve the Physiotherapy service

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in healthcare, knowledge and understanding of physiotherapy is desirable • An understanding of health related functions and experience working with people with disability is also desirable • Strong spoken & written English with excellent time management and organisational skills • Excellent customer care skills with the ability to interact with people in clinical and non-clinical areas from a variety of backgrounds and skill mix • Advanced IT skills, including Excel. • Ability to be flexible when requested and required
