Chemotherapy Nurse – Band 5

We are looking for a part time Chemotherapy nurse to join our friendly team.

You will preferably have some experience or a strong interest in working in oncology and have good cannulation skills.   You must be willing to undertake level 6 or 7 chemotherapy nurse online training with practical skills gained in the unit.  You will also have the opportunity to develop patient assessment skills under the guidance of the Band 6 and 7 chemotherapy sisters in a positive and nurturing environment.

If you want to be respected, challenged, encouraged and nurtured in an exciting, welcoming new and dynamic unit then come and join our team where no two days are the same!

We are in the exciting position of planning and developing a new oncology day unit. The unit will provide us with 11 treatment chairs for systemic anticancer therapies and an on-suite for supportive treatments. We will also have a Macmillan Acute Oncology Nurse led service and nurse led PICC placement service. Currently our team consists of a Macmillan CNS oncology, Senior Sister chemotherapy and two chemotherapy sisters with HCA and ward clerk support.

We are expanding our team to support current patient needs and service demands. This could be the perfect place for you if you would like to work in a dynamic, well established but continually developing unit where the nursing and management teams support and encourage personal and professional development.

More details of the duties of the post can be obtained from Jane Gaunt on Tel No. 01624 650039.
