Wirral Community NHS Foundation Trust

Director of Nursing and Quality Improvement

Up to £82k + benefits

At Wirral Community NHS Foundation Trust we are an integrated provider of health and social care to the population of Wirral and its surrounding areas. We are proud of our reputation for innovation, performance and delivery and of the effective partnerships we have developed with our GP commissioners and other local providers of health and social care. Our vision is to be the outstanding provider of high quality integrated care to the communities we serve.

The appointment of our new Director of Nursing and Quality Improvement comes at an exciting time. A segment 1 provider with a Care Quality Commission rating of Good, we are playing a pivotal role in addressing the challenges faced at local and regional level in providing the best place-based care for our communities. Whilst we share the financial challenges faced by the local NHS system we recognise the opportunities that the growing focus on out-of-hospital care provides for our organisation and its partners. As one of the few trusts to integrate social care and community services, we are at the forefront of delivering patient-centred care.

We have a great track record in delivering high quality services, for which the Director of Nursing and Quality Improvement plays a vital role in achieving.  Our current Director of Nursing is retiring and we are seeking to attract a new director with the ambition, enthusiasm and drive to build out of hospital services. This is a rare opportunity to build on existing success to move us from good to great.  We are seeking a professional leader who can inspire and lead the nursing and AHP workforce in delivering the transformational change needed as we implement the Five Year Forward View. Sharing our aspiration for excellence, you will be an inclusive, innovative and visible leader who is passionate about the potential for the future or our organisation and the development of the clinical workforce.  Board level experience, professional integrity and a track record for innovation and achieving results will be essential. You will need to be both tenacious and collaborative but most importantly you will share our values and put patients and communities at the centre of all we do.
