Partnerships in Care LDS provides quality, specialised treatment and inpatient care for adults with learning disabilities who can have associated conditions including personality disorders, mental illnesses and autistic spectrum disorders..

With four locations based on the Norfolk/Suffolk border we offer medium and low secure environments which are linked with community based step-down services including continuing care and rehabilitation.

The strength of Partnerships in Care LDS lies in the quality of the comprehensive assessment, treatment and care we provide. The emphasis is on a holistic and individualised approach delivered by a multidisciplinary team which includes psychiatry, psychology, nursing (mental health and learning disability), occupational therapy, specialist teaching, speech and language therapy, social work and a practice nurse for physical healthcare.

 

Purpose of Role:

 

To provide an efficient and effective ward based administration service to the Nursing Team, under the direction and guidance of the Clinical Nurse Manager.

 

Working within the patient environments, closely with the Nursing Team to promote communication between the unit and our customers.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

 

 

1          Administration                   

 

1.1       To provide full administrative support to the Nursing Staff working on the wards.

 

1.2       To take minutes as required (e.g. Ward Meetings, CN & CNM Requirements)

 

1.3       To arrange appointments, meetings and room bookings, maintaining the ward diary. (Ensure set process)

 

1.4       To receive and process calls and messages quickly, courteously and efficiently.

 

1.5      To maintain the unit's filing and record-keeping in accordance with Mental Health Act legislation and Hospital's Policies and Procedures. (Catch up with filing)

 

1.6       To take responsibility for repairs to radios and pagers (stored on units) within the Nursing Department.

 

1.7       To undertake photocopying and shredding.

 

1.8       To co-ordinate in-coming and out-going mail. (Familiarise with patient mail protocol)

 

1.9       To be proactive in obtaining CPA reports within Nursing Service Agreement                             timescales. CPA dates are diarised and communicated to ensure all patients are                              on site for CPA Meetings.

 

1.10    To supply Charge Nurses and Clinical Nurse Managers with information and administrative support as required.

 

1.11    To ensure that Policy and Procedures Manuals are kept up to date and staff are                      aware of any changes. (Updating current folders)

 

Co-ordinate and monitor system for Nursing Department Maintenance requests for repairs and replacements on the units. (In liaison with Charge Nurse)

 

1.13    Maintaining effective and tidy work/office environments.
