Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join the Buckinghamshire Urgent Care division of Healthcare. 

Buckinghamshire Urgent Care (BUC) is a Joint Venture with Care UK operating within the Urgent Care stream of the Healthcare Division. The local service in High Wycombe provides urgent and unscheduled primary care services to patients in a Minor Injury & Illness Unit at Wycombe Hospital. The wider local service incorporates ANP Navigation, GP treatment of unscheduled Minor Illness, nurse advice, doctor advice, patient clinics, and a home assessment service, alongside admission avoidance initiatives. 
BUC operates across a number of locations, including, Amersham, Aylesbury, Buckingham and High Wycombe. 

Responsible To

General Manager / Head of Nursing Care UK

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibility for this role is the line management and support of Advanced Nurse Practitioners across Buckinghamshire Urgent Care service, with a remit to manage productivity, effectiveness and quality of ANP clinical governance processes. 
You will assist the Medical Lead with integrating ANPs and work with the Operational Management team to create & deliver appropriate clinical pathways for patients across the service. Your role will consist of 16 hours per week as lead ANP and the rest of the week spent working clinically.

Skills and Experience

• 4 years proven experience in a senior nursing role 
• 1 year minimum Management experience, including budgetary control 
• Experience of leading & influencing teams 
• Experience of managing change and service improvement 
• Nurse Recruitment experience 


• RGN 
• Diploma / Degree level education. 
• Postgraduate level ANP qualification 
• Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification
