BMI Clementine Churchill hospital in Harrow have a vacancy for a Registered Nurse to join our ITU department.  The Hospital has 141 beds including a 6 bed ITU/HDU providing treatment for patients from a range of specialties, requiring elective and acute care. Due to expansion within the ITU department, we are seeking to increase our staffing levels within the Nursing team.  

This is a full-time post, for 37.5 hours per week with an internal rotational shift pattern. 

Role and Responsibilities

As a member of the ITU/HDU team, you will  have the essential task of ensuring our clinical strategies and models of care are translated into high quality patient care delivery. You will be in a position to make a difference to the lives of our patients and work as part of a specialised team. Ensuring that the delivery of care to patients is of an exceptionally high standard, you will also maintain a caring environment, to promote patient well-being and recovery.

Making sure that high standards are rigorously enforced and maintained, you will  use tools such as Clinical Governance framework, NICE, CQC guidelines and adhere to the ICS Critical Care, Health and Safety, COSHH and IPC standards to achieve the required results. 

To be considered for this post, it is essential that you meet the following criteria:

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
  • Critical care experience and/ or an approved Critical Care qualification
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Experience in a similar role - managing care of complex cases within an ITU/ HDU environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
