St Andrew`s Healthcare in Nottinghamshire is the ideal place to develop your career. Located in Mansfield, we are within easy reach of the rest of the East Midlands area. Our expert teams offer a range of comprehensive, specialist care for 63 adult male service users who have been diagnosed with learning disabilities and Autistic Spectrum Disorders. We offer relational, procedural and physical security provision, and support people with complex behavioural and cognitive needs. We have multidisciplinary teams made up of healthcare assistants, nurses, psychologists and occupational therapists, speech & language and physiotherapists.


What the role involves 

You will need a flexible approach to working hours, be able to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills and exhibit attitudes and behaviours reflective of St Andrew`s vision and values.  Applications are welcomed from well-motivated individuals, able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility.  Full training and support will be provided and opportunities for career development are encouraged.

The role is very active, therefore we require you to be physically fit and able to carry out physically demanding duties. Please note successful applicants will be able to work nights after competence is demonstrated in this role.

Good interpersonal talents with very clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, a basic knowledge of IT and an ability to work flexibly, as part of a team, are essential criteria when providing care for service users with challenging behaviours.  Applicants must also be self-motivated and able to demonstrate the ability to provide high standards of care to meet the needs of the service.

What you will need 

To join us, you will already have experience of working with people and putting your great communication skills into practice. Happy to accept direction, you will also be quick to adapt to a fast-changing environment. Ready to work on your own initiative, you will be willing to take on any new training involved in the role.
