IV Therapies Nurses act as a key member of the Service Delivery Team, and due to current expansion of the business we are recruiting Nurses who are passionate about making lives better.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Home/Outpatients Parenteral Therapy (HOPT) team, based at Salford Royal Hospital.

The role's main focus will be identifying patients on antibiotic therapy that can receive this treatment in their home setting. You will be working with the clinical teams in Salford Royal, the community district nurse teams and our North IV team to facilitate a safe and timely discharge.

Duties will include:

  • To provide highly specialist IV advice and consultancy to health professionals, patients/clients.
  • Undertake research and development activity to improve the experiences of patients who require community IV therapy.
  • Assessing patients to ensure venous access is appropriate to the patient's need, therapy needs and duration needs
  • Undertake various Clinical duties including ward rounds, as well as the occasional home visit.


The successful candidate will have experience working across IV Therapies and must have a flexible approach to their work.

  • Knowledge of managing patients with central lines.
  • Have an acute ward or community nursing background
  • Discharge Planning experience
  • Cannulation and venepuncture competency desirable

You must be a Registered Nurse with valid NMC PIN Number. Care about clinical excellence, believe in the importance of the right things, done well. And you will thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

As you will be part of the homecare team, you must must hold a full EU driving license and be willing to travel, as required.
