PULSE is delighted to be working with an independent hospital, which specialises in the management and treatment of individuals that suffer from mental health problems. The hospital is located in East Sussex and has residential facilities for 69 patients, as well as offering outpatients services. You will be part of a much larger healthcare organisation that has a nationwide network of over 275 facilities.

This hospital offers complex care and treatment for adults with severe and enduring mental health problems, challenging behaviour and physical illness. It also offers an adolescent service that consists of a general adolescent unit and a high dependency unit (HDU) for young people between the ages of 12 to 18. In these services they provide intensive, highly flexible care programmes including detention under the Mental Health Act. The acute adolescent unit also has a well-equipped school that is staffed by qualified teachers and is an approved examination centre.

Positions are available on the adolescent unit. For the Staff Nurse position successful candidates will be required to:

  •          Support and supervise new or junior staff
  •          Carefully monitor and check the accuracy and quality of others’ work
  •          Be very customer focused and respond to the immediate needs of patients
  •          Undertake continuing professional development

For the Charge Nurse position you will be required to:

  •          Delegate responsibility for the care, security and maintenance of equipment, drugs and other consumables on the ward.
  •          Undertake continuing professional development
  •          Manage, supervise and assist the nursing staff
  •          Have previous experience in managing a unit
