Our critical care unit offers the very highest standards of clinical skills and nursing care across a wide range of specialties covering Neuro, Trauma, Renal & Cardiac, where we currently have 16 level 3 and 12 level 2 mixed intensive care and high dependency beds, and currently undergoing transition to expand to 55 beds in a brand new build by 2019.

To support our progressive expansion we are looking to appoint experienced band 6 nurses, interested in career opportunities within our dynamic, state of the art unit.

Working within the 28 bed ITU / Critical Care unit of the hospital you will be looking after Critical Care Level 2 and 3 patients with complex needs. The critical care units provide excellent evidence based care to around 2300 medical, surgical and trauma patients annually. You will provide high quality individualised care to our patients and their relatives and will act as an excellent role model to your junior colleagues ensuring the highest standards of care and clinical excellence are maintained at all times.

We are looking for patient centred nurses, with a sense of fun and team play and who focus on patient needs and quality care. Holding the “6 C’s” at the centre of all you do, you will be clinically skilled, motivated, experienced and enthusiastic with previous critical care experience.

On commencement you will have a two week supernumerary orientation programme, with a structured career pathway and continued opportunities for development. We have a strong education department with experienced practice educators supporting staff of all grades. Our unit works closely with other specialities within the trust, which provides opportunities to develop clinical skills and work with new technology, together with opportunities to participate in local and national research trials.

Our ward is a dynamic and highly professional environment where the advanced equipment and technology is second to none and our staff take pride in being the best at what they do.
