PULSE is excited to be working alongside a leading healthcare organisation to recruit Registered Mental Health Nurses for one of their private hospitals in Birmingham (adult and adolescent services).

The adult inpatient unit provides addiction and detox treatment for substance and behavioural dependency, such as alcohol, drugs and gambling in addition to general actual mental health conditions. The adolescent inpatient unit cares for those aged between 12-18 who also present with general acute mental health conditions in addition to Personality Disorders, Self Harm and Eating Disorders. On this unit there is also an emphasis on providing parenting advice and liaising with external organisations such as schools and other professionals who are also involved in the young person's care. There is also a self contained Eating Disorder day stay/outpatient unit and this provides specialised treatment programmes throughout the day for both the adult and adolescent patient.

We have opportunities for RMNs in all areas; adult inpatient, adolescent inpatient and the Eating Disorder day stay/outpatient unit. For the Eating Disorder unit there is a specially developed Eating Disorders programme that focuses on the psychological, social, behavioural and physical sides of the illness.

The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:

  • Acute Mental Health experience in either adult or adolescents
  • A minimum of 1 years experience in Eating Disorders for the Eating Disorder day stay unit position
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to support and mentor junior colleagues
  • The ability to undertake and manage direct patient care
